Montclair Cooperative School is celebrating literacy with our annual Book Fair and Artisan Market. Plan to join us on Friday, November 11th from 12:30pm – 4:30pm and Saturday, November 12th from 9:00am – 4:30pm. STEM Gets an A at Montclair Cooperative School

On Wednesday, October 5, Dawne Weaver, Director of Auxiliary Programs, and Debbie Harner, Art Teacher, at Montclair Cooperative School, received the Young Audiences Arts Champion Award from Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania, the region’s largest art education organization, providing high-quality performances and artist-in-residence programs to schools in the area. Co-op Learning Beyond Classroom Walls

Field trips and hands-on learning are an essential part of our academic curricula and our social curriculum at all grade levels. A Summer Focused on Philanthropy

Our seventh and eighth grade students were very busy since last June. As part of their summer work and in preparation for their Global Issues theme study, they designed business plans and set financial goals for their own individual fundraisers for Heifer International. 7th graders Kaie and Julianna’s yard sale. Montclair Co-op Open Chess Tournament Results

Last Sunday, May 22nd, the Montclair Cooperative School hosted an Open Chess Tournament (Grades 1-8) at its campus (65 Chestnut St., Montclair). The tournament was co-directed by Mike Somers and Steve Moctezuma. Overall top place section winners received trophies, and winners within each respective grade group received ribbons. Immigration Art Reception

The Montclair Film Festival and the Montclair Cooperative School co-hosted a reception to celebrate an Immigration Art Installation designed by students to reflect our country’s collective immigration roots. The reception took place on May 1st at the festival’s Audible Lounge. The installation will remain in place for the duration of the festival after which the art will be auctioned off. Co-op students build and test their wind turbine designs

For the second year in a row the New Jersey State Council on the Arts has awarded the Montclair Cooperative School a grant that allows us to hire an artist-in-residence who works with both students and teachers.
