Kid’s Chemistry

Five days of fun and engaging Chemistry activities that can be done with materials found in the kitchen.  Young chemists will learn about atoms, molecules, states of matter, polymers, the periodic table, the history of science, and more, as they make goop, observe chemical reactions, and create edible treats.

AGES: Rising 1st – 5th grade
DATES: June 24 – June 28 for rising 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders only
July 29 – August 2 for rising 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders only
July 22 – July 26 for rising 3rd, 4th and 5th graders only
TIME: 9:00am – 1:00pm
Campers should bring a bag lunch
PRICE: $300 + $25 materials fee
Group size: Minimum of 4 / Maximum of 10
TEACHER: Nancy Bates is the Upper School science teacher at the Montclair Co-op. She has taught science to students from sixth grade through college. She loves to see the look on a student’s face at the “Aha!” moment!
LOCATION: Camp is held in the Science classroom at the Montclair Cooperative School at 65 Chestnut Street in Montclair.
