We welcomed Bruce Kanze back to the Co-op for our first General Membership Meeting of the year. Bruce led a discussion with our families around progressive education, and what it means to each of us. Hearing parents share the reason they chose the Co-op for their child(ren), what made them stay, and why generations of families have now passed through our doors, was a powerful and emotional experience. We heard how the Co-op makes children feel seen, and how those children then come to gain a strong sense of self. We discussed the importance of teaching children how to think, rather than what to think. Stories and memories were shared in an illustration of how families have been so integral to the shaping of our school.
It was a beautiful evening of sharing, thank you Bruce!
