"Math is the beautiful, rich, joyful, playful, surprising, frustrating, humbling, creative art that speaks to something transcendental."

6th Grade Homeroom & 6-8 Grade Math Teacher

My teaching path through progressive education in small private schools led me to the red brick walls of the Co-op in 2012, where I knew that I’d found a home, as well as colleagues I instantly admired.

In our math classes, I witness students constantly growing, questioning, offering, reviewing, reflecting, evaluating… there’s a synergy as ideas spiral and build on each other. We are explorers, partners and “mathletes” who delve into challenges, communicate passionately, derive concepts and meaning, and celebrate our discoveries.

I was raised in a community with many parallels to Montclair. I recall my own childhood spent happily in “experimental” open classrooms when I glimpse the Co-op’s cozy corners. As a young student, I relished the freedom to pursue my interests, develop my voice and connect with diverse constellations of children and teachers throughout the day. As an educator, I am thrilled to be part of a community committed to providing and nurturing similar experiences.

I studied at Brandeis University, and pursued graduate educational certifications at Haifa University and Rutgers University. I enjoy delving into community-based work and learning from divergent perspectives; in the summers, I work with a team from Fairleigh Dickinson University to develop teacher trainings. I also serve on the municipal board in my hometown.
