Tanya E. Dunbar, CPA, CGMA is currently an Executive Vice President (EVP) within the Enterprise Functions group, Internal Audit of Wells Fargo.Tanya began her professional accounting career with Deloitte & Touche LLP (a BIG 4 National Accounting Firm) shortly after earning her Master of Science degree (in Accounting) from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ. After an eleven year tenure at Deloitte & Touche LLP in the audit & advisory, client service arena, Tanya joined a quasi-governmental agency (the Public Companies Accounting Oversight Board – PCAOB) which provides oversight to public accounting firms, under the purview of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). After spending a few years in this regulatory inspection role, Tanya elevated her career to a national office audit quality role by joining another BIG 4 National accounting firm, Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP, National Office. After her time at PwC, Tanya furthered her career by taking on a more leadership role within the accounting firm of EisnerAmper LLP where Tanya served as a Director within the firms Risk Management Group.
With around 20 years of technical consulting, auditing and accounting services experience serving a variety of public and private entities, Tanya is responsible for Regulatory Reporting, SEC Reporting, Accounting Operations, Tax, Accounting Policy and Enterprise Controls and Oversight. Tanya also has client service experience managing the audits of domestic public banks that require SEC reporting, foreign bank branches, broker-dealers, and employee benefit plans, in addition to being well versed in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 compliance work.
Tanya is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in both New Jersey and New York. As such, she remains active with both professional and industry organizations, such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA), New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). Tanya has previously served on the Executive Board (as Treasurer) of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of NABA. Tanya continues to currently serve on the Executive Board of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of NABA as the Chair of Professional Development (2020 – current).
